I was always interested in music and after I met some DJ's at my school I was inspired to become a DJ myself. When I was 13 years old, I bought my first DJ controller and also started producing house music. One of my tracks reached over 100k streams on Spotify.A few months after I started, I discovered drum & bass through jump up and I really loved the tempo and the drums. I wanted to get to know the genre better and that's when I came in contact with jungle, minimal, and the more soulful, jazzy Drum & Bass. It really caught my interest and I started going to dnb events like StarWarz and I also started playing the genre myself. The mainstream parties I played at became less and less interesting due to a lack of focus on the music and skills, but more on the appearance on social media (this is something I would love to talk about on the show).When I saw that Footloose dnb was doing a DJ contest I didn't hesitate and sent them my mix. I was really happy when I won cause it gave me the opportunity to share my passion for dnb with the community (the event was Footloose @ Gentse feesten in Club Vier during de Gentse Feesten). After the event I decided to use the name 'Alunox' for the dnb scene instead of 'Pieter VDA' I had been using before. It would be nice to be able to spread my passion even further on Opendex!
