Opendex ("we") runs a curated open-deck community and events platform. This page describes how we handle personal data when you use opendex.be and the signed-in Opendex OS member area (dashboard, applications, chat, and related features).
What we collect
- Account and profile: email and password authentication (Amazon Cognito), stage name, handle, bio, genres, mix and social links, promo photo, and other fields you choose to add (for example municipality or national ID where required for payments).
- Events and applications: applications to play, jury scores and shortlist status, timetable and lineup data, fees and booking confirmations, supporter registrations, waitlist entries, and (where hosts enable them) guest invites or interest signals tied to private events.
- Community and comms: in-app notifications, email log metadata we need to send transactional mail, chat and event threads you participate in, follows, and photo tags where applicable.
- Technical data: security and session information, limited diagnostics, and aggregated or pseudonymous usage needed to run the service (see also our Cookies page for cookies and similar storage).
We do not sell your personal data.
Members-only events and location
Some events are listed only to signed-in members (not on the anonymous marketing catalogue). A few listings may be limited by region (for example municipality or province) using location fields on your profile.
For members-only events, full venue name and address are shown only when you are admitted in a relevant role — for example as a selected or confirmed DJ, a registered supporter, or accepted crew for that event. Until then, the site may show only generic area copy (such as city) so hosts can protect private or residential locations. Do not rely on free-text event fields to stay secret: treat structured venue and address fields as the visibility boundary.
How we use your data
We process data to operate accounts and profiles, run open calls and jury workflows, publish lineups and archives, send operational and transactional messages (applications, outcomes, reminders where enabled), facilitate chat and collaboration, enforce caps and waitlists, and maintain a safe, auditable record of the community. We use cookies and similar technologies as described on our Cookies page.
Processors and hosting
The platform relies on service providers for infrastructure — for example authentication and database hosting (such as Supabase), email delivery, and application hosting. They process data on our instructions and under appropriate agreements. A full list can be provided on request; the core stack is documented for operators in the project repository.
Your rights
You can review and update much of your data in the dashboard. You may request access, correction, export, or deletion of personal data, or object to certain processing where applicable, by contacting us at dj@opendex.be. We respond within a reasonable time. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (for example in Belgium).
Security and retention
We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data. We retain it for as long as needed for the purposes above — for example event history, legal obligations, and community continuity — and delete or anonymise when no longer necessary.
